Steps to Apply

Step 1

Review the Requirements

Before applying, ensure you meet the following criteria:

  • Age: At least 18 years old.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Placement Testing: Completion of required placement tests with satisfactory scores.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to perform the essential functions of the trade.

Step 2

Gather Necessary Documents

  • Final high school transcript or GED certificate.
  • Valid photo identification (e.g., driver’s license).
  • Placement test results.
  • For veterans: submit a copy of your DD214.
  • Additional supporting documents (optional but beneficial):
    • Certifications or specialized training records
    • Resume
    • Letters of recommendation

Step 3

Submit Documentation

  • All documents must be submitted simultaneously.
  • Ensure that Step 1 is complete before you begin uploading your documents.

Step 4

Complete Online Application

  • Fill out and submit the online application form.
  • Upon submission, you will receive a confirmation email.

Step 5

Interview Process

  • Qualified applicants will be contacted to schedule an interview with a subcommittee of the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC).

Step 6

Ranking and Acceptance

  • After the interview, applicants are placed on a list and ranked based on interview and documenation scores.
  • Rankings are accessible the month following your interview.
  • Accepted candidates will be notified via phone and email.
